Congratulations to our Trustee, Jeremy Hargreaves on his appointment as MBE in the New Year's Honours List, in recognition of his many years' service and leadership with the Liberal Democrats.

Jeremy (pictured below) grew up in a clergy household and attended a school run by one of the charity’s antecedent organisations. He is a consultant in public services strategy and change, and has held various senior management posts and non-executive roles in the NHS, local government, consultancy and the private sector.

He joined Clergy Support Trust's Court of Assistants in 2018, chairs our Governance Committee, and serves on our Charitable Services and Investment Committees.

“Seeking to develop policy ideas which improve peoples’ lives in practical ways has long been a passion of mine, including for many years as vice chair of the Liberal Democrats’ policy committee. To be recognised in this way is a tremendous honour, especially alongside the many incredible individuals who have also been recognised in the New Year Honours List 2025.”

Jeremy Hargreaves MBE

"Jeremy has been a dedicated Trustee and enthusiastic advocate for Clergy Support Trust for many years now. It has been a pleasure to work alongside him; our staff, members of the Court of Assistants and I are delighted that he has been recognised in this way. Congratulations to our committed colleague and friend."
